If ever the case arises that you may be a victim in some unfortunate scenarios,
it’s vital to know what to do in these types of situations. |
 |
- If you are able to evacuate, slowly move away from affected areas.
- If you are unable to evacuate, inform emergency responders.
- Do not move unnecessarily as you may aggravate your injuries. Medical
professionals will stabilise your condition and evacuate you as soon as
possible.
|
 |
- Stay put and protect your head and face from shattered glass or falling
objects.
- Move away from unstable objects.
- Brace yourself against walls without glass windows or mounted shelves.
|
 |
- Cover nose and mouth with anything you have in hand as a filter. Avoid
unnecessary movement, but move fingers and toes occasionally for blood
circulation.
- If possible, use a flashlight or whistle to signal to emergency responders.
If not, tap on a pipe or wall so that rescuers can pinpoint your location.
- Shout only as a last resort as doing so may weaken yourself, and also cause
you to inhale dangerous amounts of dust and fumes.
|
 |
- If you are not at the affected area, stay away from explosion site.
- Remain calm and do not call 999 or 995 unless there is an emergency.
- Tune in to local radio or television for advice and updates.
